Kayla is the newest member of the Mountain Financial team and comes with a wealth of experience from the mortgage industry, where she honed her skills in process optimization and client service. Her dedication to helping people achieve their financial goals aligns perfectly with Mountain Financials’ core values. As the Director of Operations, Kayla will be your main point of contact for all customer service inquiries. She is passionate about ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every client and will work closely with the appropriate advisor to address your specific needs. A proud PNW native and mother of two, Kayla finds joy in exploring the outdoors with her family.

Matt Scoggin

Junior Financial Advisor

Matt Scoggin began his professional career after accepting an internship with Mountain Financial in 2022. Since then, he has moved from intern to full time. Matt graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in personal financial planning. Matt has earned his Life Insurance license and is currently studying for his CFP designation while training in a junior advisor role at Mountain Financial. He resides in Northern Colorado and enjoys spending time skiing, being with his family and supporting the Buffs, Broncos and Nuggets.

Josh Heikkila

Director of Financial Planning

Josh Heikkila joined the Mountain Financial team as an associate in the summer of 2021. Josh has been a student of Mountain Financial since 2012 and has spent the last several years studying general finance and developing his knowledge. His career history has strengthened his abilities to effectively develop and navigate complex data, systems, and situations. Josh has earned his Life Insurance license and is currently studying for his ChFC designation. He grew up in Colorado, but now lives in the Pacific Northwest enjoying his work, exercise and time with his family.

Maximilian Shaulis

Director of Asset Management

Maximilian (Max) Shaulis has been working for Mountain Financial since the very beginning of his professional career. In 2019, Max accepted an internship with us, and since then he’s progressed from intern to part time, and part time to full time employee. Max graduated from the University of Denver in 2020, with a bachelor’s degree in finance and minoring in business statistics and analytics. Max focusses primarily on the management of our investment accounts, both day to day tactics and long-term strategy. Since joining Mountain Financial in 2019, Max has earned his Life and Health Insurance license and has passed his 65 exam. Since passing the series 65, Max is registered to advise clients in the state of Colorado on investments and holds the title of Investment Adviser Representative. In his free time, Max enjoys camping and hiking, is a die-hard Broncos and Nuggets fan, and doesn’t mind losing to his girlfriend in disc golf.

Jeff Webb, AIF®

Founder and CEO

Mountain Financial was founded by Jeff in early 2006 and has grown to over 10 advisors with a combined experience of 150+ years and servicing over 1000 clients. For more than 15 years, Jeff has expertly navigated the financial industry and positively impacted lives of clients and advisors. He is often asked to advise, attorneys, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) with complex financial, estate, and business planning projects. Prior to founding Mountain Financial, LLC, Jeff successfully managed leadership roles in real estate finance, wholesale mortgage, banking and owning and operating a retail mortgage company. He also played an integral part in four major mergers and acquisitions for a major national sports retailer. Jeff gained valuable work experience and education in New York City as the General Manager of a software consulting firm which specialized in enterprise accounting and financial systems. Currently, Jeff is studying for his ChFC designation (Chartered Financial Consultant), which is very similar to the CFP certification but includes an additional 100 hours of specialized education. Jeff has passed his Series 7, 66 & 63 exams and is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative. In addition to being a published author and award winning public speaker, Jeff enjoys spending time in the mountains of Colorado hiking, backpacking, and of course snowboarding in the winter.
